The Combo

This group came together in the Fall of 2022 for a private function in Toronto. Featuring Iggy Jarzabek on bass and Pablo Marin-Marques on drums, the musicians are all students in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto.

The Trio

The Elliott Barenthin Trio was formed in early 2022 when they performed at the University of Toronto in a large ensemble.

The members share an interest in traditional jazz standards and the music of Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Thelonious Monk and the modern music of Michel Petrucciani and Herbie Hancock to name a few.

Matthew Leombruni - Bass

Having an interest in jazz music since the age of four, Matthew Leombruni has had multiple performances in his young career, recently appearing in the World of Jazz Festival in Brampton, ON as well as the Toronto Undergrad Jazz Festival.

Matthew's experience with jazz music spans 15 plus years, starting with involvement in multiple student ensembles in the Community Music Program at Humber College. He has been performing with the electric bass since the age of 12, and the double bass since the age of 14.

Matthew recently completed his studies at the University of Toronto, receiving a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Performance.

Ezra Schell - Drums

Ezra Schell has been drumming since his second year of high school, and began to express an interest in jazz in his senior year.

Ezra’s biggest influences include Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Gregory Hutchinson, and Eric Harland.

He has studied under Ethan Ardelli and Ernesto Cervini during his time at the University of Toronto, and is a recipient of the Richard Iorweth Thorman Jazz Scholarship, as well as the Susan Richardson Bursary.
